Notice on Applying for the Residence Card (RC)

for New International Students(Degree-Seeking)

We would like to provide important information regarding the application for the Residence Card (RC).

All international students are required to apply for a Residence Card (RC).
If you fail to apply for a residence card within 90 days of your arrival in Korea, a daily fine will be imposed.

Be aware that if you leave Korea before issuance of RC, your current visa will be annulled and cannot return to Korea. 

This means that you cannot travel outside Korea until you obtain a residence card. 

1) Group Service through a Visa Agency (HireVisa) – Recommended ★★

•        (1st Round)  until 18:00, March 6 (Fri), 2026

•        (2nd Round) March 7 (Sat) – March 24 (Tue), 2026, until 18:00

        ※ Certificate of Enrollment and Dormitory Residence Confirmation will be available from March 3, 2026.

        2) Original passport and copy

        3) ID photo (3.5cm X 4.5cm size) 

        4) Certificate of Enrollment 

        5) Proof of residence

        6) GKS Scholarship Certificate (if applicable)

        ※ Advance reservations from overseas are not available, as a record of entry into Korea is required.

        ※ Enrollment and dormitory residence certificates will be available from March 3, 2026.
