Student Assistants
The Disability Support Center provides academic and mobility support services for students with disabilities through trained student assistants.
1. Application Process
- ① Submit an Assistant Request Form : Students who require support should complete the request form and submit it to the Disability Support Center.
- ② Eligibility Review : Eligibility is determined based on the student’s documented disability status, consultation, and review.
- ③ Recruitment of Assistants : Assistants are recruited based on the student’s requested area of support and availability (usually through an open recruitment process).
- ④ Training and Matching : Selected assistants receive basic training before being matched with the student.
- Note: Whenever possible, assistants are matched based on gender preference.
- Students may apply at any time, but to ensure timely placement, it is recommended that requests be submitted soon after course registration each semester.

2. Types of Support Assistants
- ① Peer Note-Taker - Provides class notes and supports access to lecture materials.
- ② Mobility Assistant - Assists with navigating the campus and supports daily mobility needs.
- ③ Academic Tutor - Provides tutoring support when students encounter difficulties keeping up with coursework.
- In addition, specialized educational support personnel (e.g., sign language interpreters, CART providers, braille transcriptionists) may be arranged following consultation and review by the Disability Support Center.
